CREATIVE TIME COMICS: JUNE 2009

Black Water

My one-page comic BLACK WATER is currently featured as this month's contribution to the web project CREATIVE TIME COMICS for the arts organization CREATIVE TIME.

ABOUT

My inspiration comes from the street graphics and posters I've encountered during my travels and from the works of underground comic artists Robert Williams, R. Crumb, S. Clay Wilson, Vaughn Bode, 60's collage artist Jess Collins, Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Margaret Kilgallen, and my favorite 1990s animated television shows: He-Man, Batman, and in particular John Kricfalusi's "Ren and Stimpy."

I make books, prints and wall paintings. The drawings incorporate, variously, ink, collage elements and gouache, acrylic and spray paint.

I'm currently moving to Providence, RI to begin my MFA at the Rhode Island School of Design.
